Community-Led Effort Brings Food Support to Flood-Affected Communities in Southern Thailand

Abideen Manunthawee and Nasriyah Hamiya, together with the Southern Border Mental Health Disability Network, in collaboration with volunteers and local youth, have jointly established a community kitchen to prepare and distribute meals to those affected by flooding in Southern Thailand.
The initiative focuses on providing inclusive support to affected communities, particularly vulnerable groups who have been directly impacted by the disaster, ensuring access to sufficient food during the crisis.

Throughout the operation, the team prepared and distributed approximately 1,000 cooked meals per day, along with 100 dozens of drinking water, ensuring consistent and equitable support for those in need. These efforts helped alleviate immediate hardships and provided essential sustenance for affected residents to endure the difficult situation.

Despite the physical exhaustion, words of gratitude and the smiles of community members became a powerful source of encouragement, enabling the volunteers to continue their mission with unwavering dedication.
